The Call Log section in PhoneBOX version 3 replaces the old phonebook interface and anyone familiar with the older version can see that it’s quite different, the aim here is to make it more streamlined but at the same time make it more flexible.

The Call Log can be sorted by any of the column headings shown in the above diagram (Time, Name, Location, Point, scrolling across also reveals the topic, disposition and score columns, these two can be clicked to resort the Call Log into any order that you wish, below we see this caller has had the disposition “Age Group” set to 22-30

Date & Time Spanning

By default, the Call Log looks at calls that happened within the past 6 hours. The reasoning behind this is that there are very few radio shows that last for longer than six hours, many are only, say, 3 hours so this value gives the current person on air plenty of scope for being able to see all the calls from their show. This value is easily changed however, it will accept any hour value from 1 to 72, giving you the scope to quickly see all calls that have come through in the past 3 days. You can, however, also look at calls for specific day, to do so you need to uncheck the recent calls box and then select a date from the calendar drop down box (click the drop down arrow to the right of the date)

Adding / Deleting Calls

From within the running order section of the Call Log screen it is also possible to add or delete calls. To add a call, click on the plus button and then fill in the details in the box that appears, then click add.

Likewise, it is also possible to delete calls from the running order of the Call Log screen. To do so, click on the entry you wish to delete and click the delete button, the delete button will become active and you can click it to delete the call. When you hit delete you will be prompted as to whether or not you wish the call to be deleted, hit yes to do so. You can also use this method in the phonebooks.

Note: PhoneBOX can store details of all calls for as long as you wish. Please consult your system administrator for information about what details are stored for your PhoneBOX installation. This data can be viewed using our optional PhoneBOX stats add on for PhoneBOX web manager. Please contact Broadcast Bionics or your local PhoneBOX dealer for more details. Also, our Data Mining add on to web manager allows full management of the database including reporting, deleting and changing historic data and so on. Again, contact us for more information.

Searching the Point Field

When you are in the Call Log window, you will notice that there is a button that has a pair of binoculars on it. This is the search button which allows you to search through the call log based on the criteria that you set in the menu that appears when you click this button.

If you had a phone in for example about the best places to go on a night out in London and you were trying to find callers who in their point information the screener had mentioned that they spoke about Leicester Square then you could do as follows:

  • Click the search button
  • Type in Leicester Square under the Point search option and hit enter
  • Search results would then be displayed in the Call Log window

You can see this search being carried out in the screenshot below, as you can see the Call Log is currently set to recent calls from the past 32 hours, the default is 6 but this can be changed and will affect the results of your search. Note – this search will search Callers from ALL shows.
