Introduction Solo is a call handling system which controls SIP phone calls. The calls can be originated or answered on-screen from within Solo using a mouse or touchscreen. Controlling calls in Solo is both intuitive and straightforward. Essential information for each active call is shown in Solo's linebox. Shown below is the default screen layout for Solo. The default appearance of each installation will vary slightly, depending on the number of lines and devices available. Most SIP gateways should work with Solo, however as every gateway requires different and often complex configuration, please contact Broadcast Bionics before purchasing.
Specific requirements are;

NOTE - This article applies to Solo version 1. Most consumer quality sound cards are too slow to be used acceptably with Solo - it is not recommended that you attempt to use a SoundBlaster or similar, or any onboard soundcard as these tend to be far too slow to be deemed acceptable for use - the latency of the card is extremely important when talking 'live' to a caller!

NOTE - This article applies to Solo version 2. Most soundcards with a WAVE driver will now work with Solo but consideration should be made with regards to the latency of the soundcard as there can be a big difference between cards. The latency of the card is extremely important when talking 'live' to a caller! Soundcards must support 48k sample rate at 16bit.

Call Recording And Editing One of Solo's killer features is that it automatically records each on-air call for future editing and playback. Once a call has left the device, an editor icon appears on it, as shown below. Selecting the record icon opens the record window (which follows) which gives you the opportunity to edit the call and save it to file for future use.
