Configuring the SPA400

To find out how to use the web based configuration on the SPA400 read the 'Config Guide' available from Linksys at the link above. Using the above 'Config Guide', assign a static IP address to the SPA400. Navigate to the 'SPA9000 Interface' tab in the 'Setup' section, and enter the following details (note that the SPA400 is designed to connect to an SPA9000, but in this case Solo will be replacing the SPA9000):

User Id: 400

Static Address: The IP address of your Solo PC, and an available port on the Solo PC (see Configuring Solo - step 2).

Port ID 1 to 4: Can be left as defaults (FXO_Port_ID_1 to 4).

Note - if you are not going to connect a line to one of the ports on the SPA400, enter OFFn in the appropriate Port Id box. E.g. OFF3 if you are not going to connect a line to port 3. This will prevent the SPA400 trying to dial on that line. Leave all other settings unchanged.

Configuring Solo

See the Solo manual on how to configure a SIP provider.

For the 'Registrar/Proxy' enter the static IP address assigned to the SPA400 in step 2 above.

The port number should match the signaling port on the SPA400 (default 5060).

For the local IP address, leave this set to (auto) and enter a local port number which is not used by any other SIP provider within Solo (or the handset if in use). This is the port number which should also be entered into the SPA400 - see above 'Configuring the SPA400' - step 3.

For the 'User @ domain' enter 400 @ the static IP address of the SPA4000 above.

No password is required.

Untick 'register' - the SPA400 does not support registration.
