Any devices that are used by an ASIO driver will no longer work as wave devices as ASIO captures the device exclusively. Do not try and use the a device which is in use by Solo through another application as the device will not work.

Many broadcast quality soundcards include ASIO drivers – ensure that the ASIO drivers are installed rather than WAVE or WDM drivers where available to ensure optimum performance.

Using ASIO with standard soundcards

ASIO4ALL is a free ASIO driver for WDM audio devices. It uses Kernel-Streaming to talk to the soundcard and can result in improved performance (lower latency) even for soundcards which do not natively support ASIO.
